Bill Callahan, Head Coach.
Callahan arrives from the Oakland Raiders, whom he led to Super Bowl
XXXVIII. Bill is known as a top offensive mind, an excellent
offensive line coach and a good recruiter. He has 15 years of
college experience, the bulk of which was at Illinois and Wisconsin.
Immediately after being hired Coach Callahan announced that Nebraska
would be changing to a West-Coast offense featuring a much more balanced
attack.

Shawn Watson, Offensive
Coordinator/Quarterbacks Coach.
Shawn Watson replaces Scott Downing, who left to become the head
coach at Northern Colorado. Shawn was on the staff at Colorado for
seven years under Gary Barnett, serving as the Offensive Coordinator for
six of those years. His tight ends were highly successful at
Colorado, so hopefully he will bring a new level of performance to that
position here.

Dennis Wagner, Offensive Line.
Dennis arrives from Fresno State where he was the assistant head coach
and offensive line coach for seven years. He was head coach at
Wayne (NE) State for seven years, where he directed one of the
division's most powerful offenses.

Randy Jordan, Running Backs Coach.
Randy is closely tied to Bill Callahan, having recently completed a 12
year NFL career at Oakland in 2002. During the 2003 season he
served on Callahan's coaching staff. Randy played his collegiate
ball for Mack Brown at North Carolina, but we won't hold that against
him.

Ted Gilmore, Receivers Coach/Recruiting
Coordinator.
Ted was the receivers coach at the University of Colorado. Before
that, he coached at Purdue with tight ends coach Scott Downing. He
played his collegiate ball at Wyoming.

Joe Rudolph, Tight Ends Coach.
Joe was a tight ends coach at Ohio State before coming to Nebraska.
He played his college ball for Barry Alvarez at Wisconsin.

Kevin Cosgrove, Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers.
Replacing Bo Pelini as defensive coordinator is Kevin Cosgrove, who
served as coordinator for Barry Alvarez at Wisconsin for the last nine
years. He is known as an excellent recruiter as well. Plus
he graduated from legendary
Mt. Carmel High School in Chicago.

Buddy Wyatt, Defensive Line.
Buddy was hired before the 2006 bowl game, and recently coached the
defensive line at Alabama. Previously he has been on the defensive
staffs at Big XII schools Oklahoma State, Colorado and Texas A&M.
He played his collegiate ball at TCU.

Bill Busch, Safeties/Special Teams. Busch arrives having
spent the last three seasons coaching defensive backs at the University
of Utah. He has deep ties to Nebraska, having held a graduate
assistant position here nad having been an assistant coach for former
Husker Tony Samuel at New Mexico State. He also has ties to
Callahan and Cosgrove due to a graduate assistant position at Wisconsin
in 1994.

Phil Elmassian, Cornerbacks Coach.
Phil arrives from Purdue, where he was defensive backs coach in 2003.
He has 30 years of collegiate coaching experience. He has been
defensive coordinator at four different schools.
